Who was Sylvester? Where did he come from? How is he so amazingly preserved? And what caused his death? Think you know Sylvester's secret? Watch "The Gunslinger Mummy" and find out!
“Mummies Alive” is a documentary series produced under the auspices of Canada’s History Channel and the USA’s Smithsonian Channel. Each segment features one of the world’s most fascinating mummies, dating in age from a few decades to a few millennia.
Almost a year ago, Saloon Media, the Canadian company that produced Mummies Alive, flew into town to film Sylvester where he resides at Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. Director Mick Grogan invited scientists Gerald Conlogue and Ron Beckett (pictured above) to examine our resident mummy and – aided by the latest forensic techniques, meticulous historic research and the best in computer animation -- try to answer some of the most intriguing questions about him. Since the filming in August 2014 we were on pins and needles waiting for the American air date of this program.
Finally, "The Gunslinger Mummy" episode of "Mummies Alive" aired on Sunday, June 7 at 9:00 pm PST. If you missed it, enjoy this YouTube replay right here!
